In the Green, mountainous nature of the North of Portugal, is situated the small rustic campsite Convívio since 2002. Just a little from the river Minho which is the border with Spain and cuts right through the region, the Minho in Portugal and Galicia in Spain; better known as the Costa Verde. From the mountain slope, on the edge of the forest, you have a tremendous view over the Minho Valley till the river and the mountains in Spain.

On our campsite you find tranquility while the children are swimming, play table tennis or games in the café. There is a beautiful salt water swimming pool and a small snackbar with in the evening a meal. Who wants, can see the sun come up early in the morning over the mountaintop. A very peaceful beginning of the day. It is possible to spend all day on the campsite. You can find calmness, activity, food and drinks. Upto a massage. Then, choose the next day an outing filled with sports, cultural or historical sightseeing or attend one of the many festas. In short the Minho is a region to have your holidays.

               - sport actvities, like walking, cycling, swimming, canoeing, or surfing

               - relaxation, like staying on the campsite or visit one of the many festivals or festas (honouring the patron saint)

How to get there
If you go by car, you can use the highways till 10 km from our campsite and from there two lane tar roads. From the Pyrenees into Spain, you go via Burgos, Leon, Benavente, Valladolid, Palencia, Ourense, in the direction of Vigo. About 10 km before Vigo when you get the choice you go to Portugal. Take the first exit in Portugal (no. 14) to Vila Nova de Cerveira. You get on a 2-lane road for about 8 km and turn left in the direction of Candemil. After about 400 m, again left to Candemil. Now you are on a mountain road and drive ca. 3,5 km. You pass the sign Moreira and turn after 50 m left into Bacelo (with our sign Campismo Convívio). Another 200 m you go left in the curve. The entrance is 70 m.

When you fly, most probably to Porto, rent a car there (through internet, at the same time when you buy your ticket) and go via A28 to Viana do Castelo. Pass Viana and stay on the A28 till the end. Then you get automatically on the two lane tar road N/M 13 and go to Vila Nova de Cerveira. There you get a roundabout, 2 robots and then a sign telling you to go right to Candemil. After about 1 km you have the mountain road on your right going up to Candemil, You take this for 3,5 km, pass the sign Moreira and go left after 50 m into Bacelo (with our sign Campismo Convívio), 200 m left in the curve and 70 m till our entrance.

Roads and toll roads

In Portugal pays the habitant not much road tax. One of the measurements taken in this time of crisis is the expansion of the toll roads. Naast de There are several working with gates. You get a ticket at the beginning and pay with your creditcard at the end. But now there are also more modern ones, electronic toll roads, names SCUT. They do not bother you with gates. You can drive without noticing. You only recognise them because of installations over the road. They photograph your numberplate and save it together with the payment you should make in the computer. The environment
The towns around us are Porto (115 km), Braga (65 km), Guimarães (80 km), Viana do Castelo (45 km), Ponte de Lima (30 km), and the places at the border along the Minho Monção (30 km), Valença (15 km), Caminha (15 km) and Melgaço (45 km).
In Galiçie, there is Baiona (35 km), Guarda (25 km), Tui (18 km) and Santiago do Compostela (135 km). As well as port tests, and a visit to a vinho Verde wine farm.

February and March: In the whole of the Alto Minho is in all kinds of restaurants served fish Lampreia. These fish are in the Minho only during the months of January through March, and can only be eaten during that period in restaurants.
